About Michelle
Michelle Helen Phaneuf is a Boston based mixed media artist. Her work serves as a tool to understand and express her experience with chronic migraine disorder. She strives to show what she’s failed to describe to family, friends and healthcare practitioners in her 15 years living with the condition. In the process, she’s learned how much of chronic illness care depends on the quiet respite of slow, methodical expression. She works with her ever-present studio assistants, Suki and Freya.
